Service Description: Parking Services deal with parking enforcement issues over the Island including pay and display locations and on street parking contraventions. Priority areas are usually those where illegally parked vehicles cause safety issues, congestion and also slow down other road users. Parking services also deal with a variety of parking permits for various schemes over the Island.

Question: Are there any free car parks on the island?

Answer: Yes, there are many free car parks on the Island (too many to list here). If there is an area in particular, I would advise looking at the Current Parking Order.
Alternatively, there are several pay and display car parks which offer free parking from 1pm to 6pm each week. These car parks are listed below.
Mondays: Cross Street, Cowes and Maresfield Road, East Cowes.
Tuesdays: Station Avenue, Sandown.
Wednesday: Lugley Street, Newport and Orchardleigh Road, Shanklin.
Thursday: Central (High Street), Ventnor.
