Answer: Service users and the community expect to see the Council and its partners provide good value for money. It is important to local residents that every penny paid in Council Tax is spent wisely. Just as people regularly review their household bills and outgoings, the Council must ensure that its services and activities offer excellent value for money. The Council has a clear duty and it is a priority to achieve value for money from all its activities, whether they are funded from Council Tax, Government Grant or any other source. The Council has constrained resources and needs to be effective in the delivery of services at optimum cost to deliver the maximum outcomes residents need.
