Your FAQ

Question: I don't think my waste should be placed kerbside as it will obstruct the pavement and cause a hazard to pedestrians. What do you suggest?

Answer: Householders are asked to position waste neatly in single file to minimise obstruction. If members of the public accessing an area are finding it difficult due to waste at the kerbside, they should call us as we can conduct a site visit. The Council’s view is that waste placed at the kerbside represents no more of a hazard than permanently fixed street furniture such as litter bins, seats, lighting columns or sign posts. In other words it will constitute an obvious hazard to be avoided and won’t actually be sufficiently dangerous to entrap pedestrians.
