Service Description: The Isle of Wight Council carries out regular inspections on local businesses and business premises to ensure that health and safety legislation is complied with, and that safe and healthy working conditions are provided for all employees and visitors.

Question: What do inspectors actually do?

Answer: They visit workplaces to check that people are sticking to the rules. They investigate some accidents and complaints but mainly they help you to understand what you need to do. They enforce only when something is seriously wrong.
