Service Description: The main function of Building Control is to ensure that new building work meets the requirements of the Building Regulations. These Regulations cover matters such as structural stability, fire safety, conservation of fuel and power and access and facilities for disabled persons.

Answer: The Building Regulations 2010 came into force on 1st October 2010. The function of the Building Regulations relates to the design and construction of buildings and the provision of services, fittings and equipment, in order to secure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of persons in or about buildings, and to conserve fuel and power.
