Service Description: The Isle of Wight County Archaeology and Historic Environment Service manages the Island's archaeological resource and the wider historic environment.

Question: How can I get involved in archaeology on the Island?

Answer: If you are between the ages of 9 and 16, you can join the Isle of Wight Young Archaeologists Club (Contact Joy Verrinder, Branch Leader, Carisbrooke Castle Museum, tel. 01983 523112 or email [email protected]).
If you are an adult you can contact active local heritage groups such as the Isle of Wight Natural History and Archaeology Society, the Isle of Wight Industrial Archaeology Society or the Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology. Check out their websites for details
