Service Description: Disabled Facilities Grants - To carry out adaptations to a property to enable the occupier’s access to the property; around the property and to all essential amenities; following referral by an Occupational Therapist. For further information please see the ‘Related partners’ tab. Repair Grants - To assist with minor repairs to owner-occupied and rented properties where the eligibility criteria for both the applicant and the property is met, to ensure the property has basic amenities and is free from serious hazards. Owner occupiers must have lived in the property for 2 years to be eligible (and Landlords may be eligible), t grant is means tested. It is discretionary. Maximum grant amounts apply. Grants for energy efficiency are still available from other sources, see the ‘Related partners’ tab.

Question: Can I get a grant for home insulation?

Answer: You should first contact the Solent Energy Advice Centre on 0800 512012 to find out if you can receive a grant. Also try the Island Insulation Scheme on 0800 015 2475. You can also contact your gas or electric supplier, as they may also offer insulation schemes, or try the Warmfront Team on 0800 316 6011.
If you are unable to obtain assistance this way contact the Council's Housing Renewal Section on 823040, who will determine whether you may be eligible to receive grant assistance operated by the Council.
