Your FAQ

Question: If I put my rubbish out overnight, it will get ripped open by animals. Who is responsible for clearing the mess up?

Answer: Householders are responsible for keeping their waste secure prior to collection. Waste spilt prior to collection is the responsibility of the householder to clear up. Operatives will clear waste that they spill whilst collecting. If you have particular problems with animal damage you may wish to put your dustbin at the kerbside, these will be returned to where they were collected from. Dustbins and recycling containers left at the kerbside are the responsibility of the householder. We recommend participating in the food waste collection service - a green caddy with a locking lid is provided free of charge for all cooked and raw food waste, collected weekly at the same time as the normal refuse. Without food waste in the black bags animals are unlikely to take an interest in them.
