Registration of Births


Service Description: To register a birth and obtain certificates. Both parents must attend together if they are not married, to be named in the register entry. When registering twins a double appointment is required. Re-registrations to add father's details if not given when first registered or to show that Mother and Father are now married to one another if not married at time of registration.

Question: When registering the birth of our baby do we both have to attend if we are married to each other?

Answer: No, if the parents are married to each other then only one parent needs to register the birth.
