Animal Boarding Establishment Licence (Cats/Dogs)


Service Description: People who provide board for other people's cats/dogs must have an 'animal boarding establishment' licence.

Question: What are the legal requirements for running a cattery?

Answer: Your cattery must be licensed by the Council and must comply with licence conditions relating to construction and practice. Interpretation of guidelines can vary from Council to Council, so for clarification, contact the Licensing Section on 01983 823159. For 2004/05 the fee is £132.00 per year, plus any fees charged by the veterinary inspector for inspecting the premises (this inspection is compulsory)
