Service Description: Parking Services deal with parking enforcement issues over the Island including pay and display locations and on street parking contraventions. Priority areas are usually those where illegally parked vehicles cause safety issues, congestion and also slow down other road users. Parking services also deal with a variety of parking permits for various schemes over the Island.

Answer: The new machine has been configured to only operate only between the hours of 7.00am and 6pm (to avoid youths emptying the machine of tickets overnight). Therefore, those who arrive at approximately 6.30am and who are still in the pool at 8.00am for example cannot obtain a ticket. We are looking into reconfiguring the software but in the meantime, but for the interim, we will not be enforcing for no valid ticket within the car park until 10.05am. That would, effectively allow those who arrive before 8am, their 2 hours in the car park during chargeable hours.
