School Admissions


Service Description: The School Admissions Service co-ordinates school admissions for the Isle of Wight. The Isle of Wight has 49 community, foundation, church aided and academy schools. There are: 41 primary schools (for pupils aged 4 to 11); 6 secondary schools (for pupils aged 11 to 19); 2 mixed-sex special schools (for pupils aged 4 to 11 and 11 upwards).

Question: How do I apply for a place when my child is due to start at primary school?

Answer: We send application packs to pre-schools and primary schools for distribution during the autumn term prior to the September that your child can start school or you can complete an online application form at www.iwight.com/schooladmissions.

ON-LINE APPLICATION FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE PARENT / GUARDIAN OF THE CHILD.
