Question: Can I take plasterboard from my home to the Civic Amenity Sites/Household Waste Recycling Centre?

Answer: You can take household plasterboard to Island Waste Services at Forest Park, Forest Road, Newport from Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm please call Island Waste on 01983 821234 prior to your visit. This waste will be recycled. Island Waste cannot accept household plasterboard with tiles stuck on it (or indeed anything else stuck to it) All tiles/ fixtures must be removed before taking the remaining plasterboard to Island Waste. N.B For loads over 60 Kg a charge will be made for the whole load, plus VAT for the whole load. For loads less than 60 Kg no charge is made. You will also need to take with you proof of where you live and a debit/credit card or cheque book (even if you suspect your load to be under 60kg) Cash is not accepted. Domestic customers are limited to 2 trips per year for disposal of plasterboard. The year will be taken from the date of your first visit. If you need more than this for any reason ie. completely renovating a house, please contact Island Waste directly on 01983 821234 to arrange this.
