School Music Service


Service Description: The Isle of Wight Music Service has, in one form or another, been providing instrumental tuition to LEA schools on the Island for more than half a century. Services we offer to young island musicians: An extensive programme of workshops & concerts Special projects, like the provision of World Instruments provided by the Solent Music Project Saturday morning Music Centre, which meets on 24 term-time weekend basis Occasional long-weekend courses Concert tours Full information can be found at the Isle of Wight Music Centre website.

Answer: Strings – Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Electric Bass
Woodwind – Flute, Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Bassoon
Brass – Trumpet, Cornet, Trombone, Tuba, French Horn, Tenor Horn
Others – Percussion, Keyboard, Recorder, Guitar, Electric Guitar

The IW Music Service offers free tuition (and free instrument hire) for the first year
of lessons on viola, cello and double bass (all schools) and on oboe, bassoon,
trombone, tuba, euphonium and French horn in middle and high schools.
