Supporting People

Service Description: Supporting People is a government programme that gives money to housing-related support services to help you live independently in your community. If you think you need housing-related support, you should talk to your care manager, social worker, mental health worker, probation officer or housing officer and they will carry out an assessment. If you do not have one of these you can contact either Adults First Response Team or Housing Services.

Your FAQ

Question: Is housing provided with Supporting People services?

Answer: This depends on your individual needs and what services are available. Some services are given by housing associations or councils for their own tenants, whilst others are available to home owners and private tenants as well. Some services are very specific e.g. for homeless people, those fleeing domestic violence or people who have specific problems like a learning disability or mental health problem.
