Service Description: Disabled Facilities Grants - To carry out adaptations to a property to enable the occupier’s access to the property; around the property and to all essential amenities; following referral by an Occupational Therapist. Repair Grants - To assist with minor repairs to owner-occupied and rented properties where the eligibility criteria for both the applicant and the property is met, to ensure the property has basic amenities and is free from serious hazards. Owner occupiers must have lived in the property for 2 years to be eligible (and Landlords may be eligible), t grant is means tested. It is discretionary. Maximum grant amounts apply. Answer: The Isle of Wight Council operate a loan scheme called the Eco Loan, with partners the Isle of Wight Credit Union. This offers a 3% interest rate and owners of Island properties can be eligible. Maximum amounts apply and work can range from repairs & improvements, to renewable energy systems.
