Your FAQ

Question: What happens if a child is found to be truanting from school?

Answer: If a child is found to be truanting the Education Welfare Service will become involved.
Depending on previous attendance record, a fixed penalty notice may be issued (without any further recourse to assessment or casework with the pupil/family); and/or the local authority may seek an Education Supervision Orders or Parent Prosecution.
