Youth & Community Service


Service Description: The Isle of Wight Youth & Community Service offers a wide range of activities and support to young people aged 13-19 years (up to 25 with learning difficulties) across the Island. The service currently operates 10 full and part-time Youth Centres in three geographical clusters: North and East Wight - Ryde, Bembridge, Brading, Cowes, East Cowes (Yorkie Bar) and Wootton. West and Central - Newport and West Wight. South Wight - Sandown and Ventnor. This provision is also supported by a number of island-wide outreach projects and activities to assist young people in their personal development.

Question: Is training provided for Youth & Community Service staff?

Answer: Yes all staff are expected to undertake a minimum of 20 hours training and as part of their induction a basic foundation course in youth work is provided
