Question: What is the relationship of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Unit to the Isle of Wight Council?

Answer: The work of the Isle of Wight AONB Partnership is serviced by its own staff at the AONB Unit. The AONB Unit is hosted by the Isle of Wight Council, with its personnel being employed through the hosting authority and being line managed through the Planning Policy Manager of the Isle of Wight Council. The work of the AONB Unit is directed by the Isle of Wight AONB Partnership Steering Committee, consisting of representatives of the Isle of Wight Council, Countryside Agency a Chairman and eight individual portfolio holders with a specific area of interest. - Related Link
