Service Description: The council investigates complaints about building sites, and can also provide advice to building companies with regards to pollution.

Your FAQ

Question: What are the permitted hours for noisy or potentially noisy operations on construction sites (guidance only)?

Answer: The permitted hours (guidance only) for working on building sites are:
Monday - Friday 8.00am - 6.00pm
Saturday 8.00am - 4.00pm
Sundays, Public and Bank Holidays - no working.

In exceptional circumstances these hours may be extended, for example:
1. Emergency Works
2. Works required for immediate Health & Safety reasons.
3. Works which are likely to cause major disruption to traffic, and where the police or the Council's highways officers decide they should take place at night or at a weekend.
