Your FAQ

Question: Why aren't the new parking tickets self-adhesive?

Answer: It is a sensible move by the Isle of Wight Council to install non-adhesive tickets in their ticket machines. Firstly, it is financially prudent, as it is worth bearing in mind that in this era of economic austerity for Local Authorities, non-adhesive tickets are less expensive; additionally, they are more environmentally friendly as only one piece of paper is required to produce the ticket as opposed to two. A ticket without glue will prolong the life of the printer within the machine, which in turn will reduce costs. Lastly, it should always be borne in mind that it is the responsibility of the motorist to ensure that the ticket is clearly visible as he/she leaves the vehicle.
