Answer: Whilst we are not obliged to do so, the Council may accept an instalment request from the registered keeper of the vehicle after such a time as the full amount has become due and a Notice to Owner has been sent to the registered keeper of the vehicle. An instalment request would not be considered before this time as the reduced charge is offered to encourage prompt payment of the charge and additionally, the Council cannot set up an instalment plan with anyone other that the registered keeper. It is worth noting that we have a maximum istalment period of 3 months. However, if the amount outstanding is between £240 - £480, payment of £80 per month can be accepted or if the amount is greater than £480, we can accept instalments over a maximum of 12 months.
