Supporting People


Service Description: Supporting People is a government programme that gives money to housing-related support services to help you live independently in your community. If you think you need housing-related support, you should talk to your care manager, social worker, mental health worker, probation officer or housing officer and they will carry out an assessment. If you do not have one of these you can contact either Adults First Response Team or Housing Services.

Answer: Housing-related support includes things such as helping people with the security of their homes; helping people with personal safety in their homes; helping people manage their money; helping people with claiming benefits; helping people with learning domestic and/or social skills; advice on home improvements; helping with minor works; helping people to deal with other people such as landlords, other tenants and professionals; support with moving to more independent accommodation and other tasks which meet our local rules. - Related Link
