Service Description: If you miss an instalment on your Business Rates you will receive a reminder notice giving you seven days to bring your payments up to date. If you do not pay within this time, or if after a second reminder you fall behind with your payments again, you will be asked to pay the full outstanding balance of your Business Rates bill.
Answer: When you fail to pay a Reminder or you do not pay on the Final Notice, we will apply to the Magistrates Court requesting them to issue you with a Summons for non-payment of Business Rates. The balance including costs must be paid before the court (this will be shown on the summons) to stop us from applying for a Liability Order. Further costs will be added to yor account once the Liability Order has been granted by the Magistrates.
