Your FAQ

Question: How do I report misuse of a disabled badge?

Answer: Please contact the Council on 823714.
If you are reporting misuse when it is happening:
• It would be helpful for Parking Services to have the registration number, location & blue badge number (if possible).
• This information could be passed to the CEO on this route (or Area Supervisor) and if practical a visit made to location.
• Should the individual be witnessed returning to the vehicle, the CEO can request to inspect the blue badge shown.
• If the blue badge holder is not present whilst it is being used, a Penalty Charge Notice can be issued.
• The CEO cannot confiscate the blue badge, but can report its misuse to Social Services.

If you are reporting persistent misuse at a particular location
• We would need the location & times, and the registration if it was a singular vehicle witnessed.
• We would then follow the steps outlined above, but targeted using location & time, as far as reasonably and operationally practical.

If you are reporting misuse which is a one off and after the event
• We have little power to become involved, and this detail should be passed to Social Services for them to record.
