Your FAQ

Question: How often does the Highways Design Section inspect its highway construction sites?

Answer: The Design Section has a Senior Clerk of works who visits all the sites that are managed by Highways Design. This is undertaken on a daily basis. He will check that the traffic management conforms to the standards and will supervise the works on site and sort out or notify the Engineer of any problems. The Clerk of works will fill in a site diary detailing specific criteria i.e. the number of men on site, plant on site, works currently being undertaken and the weather. The weather conditions are very important to check that certain materials are laid under the correct conditions. - Related Link
