Service Description: Fostering is substitute family care for children and young people who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to live with their own families. Services available via the Fostering Service are Long Term Fostering, Short Term Fostering, Respite Care, Day Care Providers, Family Link and Combined Accomodation Scheme (CAS). The service currently consists of 3 Units and a Fostering Duty Worker.
Answer: Following acceptance of a completed application form from you, we will take up two personal references and also make checks with the police, probation, health department, NSPCC and your children’s schools if you have any. The process is exactly the same for everyone who applies to foster and the rigorous checks are necessary to ensure the safety of the children in foster care.
