Your FAQ

Question: How much is a copy birth certificate?

Answer: If you are applying for a copy birth certificate the cost is £10.00 each.
Applicants should be encouraged to request a full copy certificate as this is the one they will need for most things such as applying for a passport, making a job application or opening a bank account.

Short birth certificates show only name, sex and place of birth. One short certificate is issued free on the day the birth is registered and this is mainly used to claim child benefit. The cost of short and full certificates is now the same.
