Adoption of Roads

Service Description: The Highway authority is responsible for the routine inspection and maintenance of all publicly maintainable (or adopted) highways on the Island. A number of Inspections are carried out by a team of Highway Inspectors on a scheduled basis, who identify any essential works that may be required to maintain the highway in safe condition. Please note that the maintenance of private (unadopted) roads is usually the responsibility of the Landowner. Private roads may or may not be subject to public rights of way.
