Supporting People


Service Description: Supporting People is a government programme that gives money to housing-related support services to help you live independently in your community. If you think you need housing-related support, you should talk to your care manager, social worker, mental health worker, probation officer or housing officer and they will carry out an assessment. If you do not have one of these you can contact either Adults First Response Team or Housing Services.

Also known as:- Help with claiming benefits, Help with dealing with professionals, Help with learning domestic and/or social skills, Help with managing your money, Help with personal safety in the home, Help with security of your home, Housing-related support

Question: What is not housing related support?

Answer: Supporting People does not provide every kind of help that may be needed in the home. Community Services has responsibility for personal care services such as giving help with getting into bed and getting up in the morning, providing meals on wheels etc. Further information about services for adults can be found by calling the duty team on 01983 823340. - Related Link
