Service Description: The Service provides educational advice and support for sensory impaired children and their families and ongoing professional development and training for staff. The Service also provides specialist equipment to facilitate effective communication and links with other relevant agencies.

Also known as:- Hearing Impaired, Sensory Support Team, Teachers of the Deaf, Visually Impaired

Question: What happens if my child is confirmed as having visual loss?

Answer: If a visual loss is confirmed liaison will take place between the Service for Children with Visual Impairment and the Health Authority and the child, parents and school will be offered support according to Service Criteria and any other relevant information - Related Link
