Skip Permits


Service Description: Builders’ skips require a permit if they are to be placed on the highway. This is a requirement of the Highways Act 1980. The Isle of Wight Council has the right to specify conditions relating to the position of highway skips.

Answer: No. Individuals and businesses must make their own arrangements with private contractors if a skip is required. Contractors advertise in the Yellow Pages and the local press.
