Your FAQ

Question: How do I make a claim against the Council?

Answer: If you believe you have suffered a loss, damage or personal injury as a result of something the Council has done or failed to do, either yourself or a nominated legal representative on your behalf will need to provide details of your claim by completing an Incident Questionnaire which can be accessed via the forms box at the top of this page.
The information which will be required is detailed below.
1) a clear summary of the facts (date, time, specific location etc) on which the claim is based i.e. specific allegations of negligence and why you believe the Council to be at fault.
2) details of any financial loss together with evidence to substantiate the loss.
3) any photographs or other documentation to support your allegations.
4) sufficient information to enable the Council and it's insurers to carry out an investigation.
