Service Description: LACES is the Isle of Wight Children’s Services Looked after Children’s Education Service. LACES are a small team working to improve the educational attainment and participation of children and young people in public care. LACES provide support, advice, information and training to Social Workers, Designated Teachers and Parents/Carers. The team also provide targeted support to children and young people in care.

Question: Who can be a respite carer?

Answer: All sorts of people can be carers. You can be married, have a partner or be single. You can be working or at home, unemployed or retired. Usually carers are between 21 and 60 when they start fostering. We are able to consider a wide variety of people irrespective of gender, sexuality, disability, race, religion, and culture. - Related Link
