Your FAQ

Question: Does the Council require its suppliers and contractors to trade electronically (e-Procurement)?

Answer: Currently it is not an essential requirement, although there are considerable benefits to both the Council and its suppliers from being able to trade electronically. The Council is currently implementing an electronic marketplace system, which includes the use of electronic purchase orders, invoices and catalogues, etc. We are also introducing purchasing cards. Both these projects will be progressively “rolled out” to include more and more of our suppliers. Therefore we are strongly encouraging all our suppliers to adopt these modern business processes.
