Service Description: The role of Building Control is principally to ensure the health and safety of people in and about buildings.

Question: I am aware of a building that I think is dangerous. Who should I notify?

Answer: The Building Control department have powers to deal with buildings / structures that are considered to be imminently dangerous.

To contact Building Control during office hours please telephone (01983) 823580. It is important that you give precise information of the location and nature of the danger so that effective action can be taken quickly.

If you need to report a dangerous structure outside of office hours you should contact the Emergency Services who will then notify the Council.
