Service Description: The Earl Mountbatten Hospice came into existence in 1982 and is the Island's only hospice, caring for 75% of all cancer patients and certain other patients with life-shortening diseases living on the Isle of Wight. The hospice provides the most up to date methods of pain and symptom control; they support the physical emotional and spiritual needs of all patients and their families, and aim to help all involved to come to terms with their illness in a loving and supportive atmosphere. The care is provided by a dedicated team of professionals and supported by loyal volunteers.
