Community Transport

This service is not run by the Council and information should be used for contact purposes only

Service Description: If you are housebound or have no car and Public Transport is not available or suitable to you, then the Community Car Scheme may be able to help you.
Across the Island the Isle of Wight Rural Community Council has a network of volunteer drivers who give their time and use their cars to provide a personal door to door service.
The service is available to meet a range of needs such as hospital visits, getting to dental or doctors appointments, shopping etc. At times of high demand, priority will be given to medical appointments. Journeys must be arranged in advance (at least 24 hours normally) and may be booked through the Isle of Wight Rural Community Council's helpline.
If you do use this service, you will be asked to reimburse your volunteer driver's mileage expenses at the prevailing mileage rate.
