Contribution-Based Employment and Support Allowance - Proposed Changes

Also known as:- Employment Support Allowance Contribution based - Proposed Changes

Service Description: The Welfare Reform Bill currently going through Parliament is proposing two changes to contributory Employment and Support Allowance:
• to limit the amount of time that people in the Work Related Activity Group can receive contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance to 12 months

• to remove the special rules for Employment and Support Allowance ‘youth’
If passed by Parliament these changes will be introduced in Spring 2012.
