Young Volunteers
The Isle of Wight Council’s Participation Team in partnership with Community Action Isle of Wight is offering specific volunteering opportunities to young people who are under 19.
The aim of the programme is to enable young people to develop and gain skills and experiences through volunteering opportunities. There are mutually beneficial outcomes for both the young person and the placement. Whilst giving support to the community, the young person gains from new experiences and the acquisition of new skills to enhance their CV and future job prospects.
The placement can be for as many hours as wished subject to the needs of the young person and the availability of the placement. The programme does not affect any entitlement to benefits and does not carry any financial recompense. However, young people will not be prevented from volunteering because of financial barriers and help with travel and other additional expenses may be available.
Placements are available now – why wait?
For more information and to apply for Young Volunteers please contact the Isle of Wight Council’s Participation Team at the Choices Centre, 29 High Street, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 1SS. Tel: (01983) 525927 or email [email protected]
