National Citizen Service In 2012 National Citizen Service will give up to 30,000 16 – 17 year-olds the chance to learn new skills and get involved in their community. This is open to young people currently in Year 11 and Year 12. The scheme will take place in a number of different locations across England, including the Isle of Wight. Partnership Network is one of 29 service providers across the country and has a limited number of places on offer for the Isle of Wight. National Citizen Service will take place during summer 2012. It will run for two weeks full-time, including one residential week off the Island at Marwell (www.marwellactivitycentre.co.uk). The second week will be based back in your local community, also on a full-time basis. After that, you’ll need to complete another 30 hours on a Community Action Project. During the residential week, which commences on Monday, 6 August 2012, you will spend 5 days and 4 nights with your allocated team of 11 other young people, alongside other NCS teams. Working in your teams, you’ll have the chance to take part in exciting outdoor activities. Full details are available through the first link below. |
