Carisbrooke Castle Museum

Carisbrooke Castle Museum

Princess Beatrice, the Island Governor and youngest daughter of Queen Victoria, on 11 August 1898 opened the museum in the gatehouse newly restored as a memorial to her late husband Prince Henry of Battenberg The exhibits related mainly to King Charles I - imprisoned in the castle for the last year of his life - and comprised personal relics, documents, prints, and armour of the English Civil War period.

Open all year except, 24 -26 December 2000 &1 January 2001. 1 April - 30 September: 10.00 am - 6.00 pm 1 October - 31 October: 10.00 am -5.00 pm 1 November - 31 March: 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
Adults £4.50 Concessions £3.40 Children £2.40
