What's on?
Things happening everywhere!
There are
stories and activities
in Isle of Wight libraries in most school holidays. There won't be any at Easter, but in the May half term there will be "Seriously Silly stories!" everywhere. Dates and times will be added nearer the time.
You can vote in the
Isle of Wight book award
in any library. There is a shortlist of 9 books to choose from. They are:
- The princess diaries by Meg Cabot
- Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
- The thief lord by Cornelia Funke
- Skeleton key by Anthony Horowitz
- Saffy's angel by Hilary McKay
- The wind singer by William Nicholson
- The doomspell by Cliff McNish
- Mortal engines by Philip Reeve
- The ersatz elevator by Lemony Snicket
To vote, pick up a form from your local library. Everyone who votes will be entered into a prize draw to win a book token.
The
Reading Maze
is this summer's national reading game. It will start in July, as soon as schools break up for the summer. All you have to do is read six books - you can read any book you like! - and you'll get a medal and a certificate.
