Portfolio Holders :    Mr D J Knowles - Fire, Emergency Planning and Consumer Protection, Mr E Fox - Transport

 

Any other member of the Council may attend the meeting and may speak with the permission of the Chairman provided that notification has been given to Select Committee Support before the commencement of the meeting, such notification to detail which items the member is attending for.

 

AGENDA

 

1.                  MINUTES - PAPER A - To confirm the Minutes of the meeting held on 16 February 2004.

 

2.                  DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST - To invite Members to declare any interest they might have in the matters on the agenda.

 

3.                  PUBLIC QUESTION TIME - To guarantee a full reply at the meeting, the question must be delivered in writing or by electronic mail to the Committee Administrator no later than 10.00 am on Thursday, 11 March 2004.  Each question must give the name and address of the questioner.  Questions may be asked at the meeting without prior notice but in these circumstances there is no guarantee that a fully reply will be given at the meeting.

 

4.                  URGENT BUSINESS - To consider any matters which, in the Chairman's opinion, are urgent.

5.      TETRA MASTS AND THE ISLE OF WIGHT – PAPER B – To consider the report of the Head of Consumer Protection.

 

The following stakeholders have been invited to attend, to either make a short presentation or answer questions.

 

Mr Stephen Lee – Spokesperson for the Ryde Tetra Action Group – Papers supplied by the Action Group are attached as PAPER C.

 

Dr Michael Clark – National Radiological Protection Board.

 

Dr Paul Bingham – Director of Public Health.

 

Mr Peter Sitch – Regional Communications Manager for Airwave mmO2.

 

Mr Andrew Pegram – Area Team Leader, Development Control, Isle of Wight Council.

 

 

 

SCRUTINY SESSION

 

6.      QUARTERLY PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT REPORT - PAPER D - To consider the report of the Head of Corporate Policy and Communications.

 

7.      SAFER COMMUNITIES – PAPER E – To consider the report of the Chief Executive Officer.

 

 

8.      MEMBERS= QUESTION TIME - A question must be submitted in writing or by electronic mail to the Committee Administrator no later than 10.00 am on Friday, 12 March 2004.

 

9.      NEXT MEETING - The next scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, 19 April 2004 at 10.00 am at County Hall, Newport.  The agenda items are likely to include reports on:
