Any other member of the Council may attend the meeting
and may speak with the permission of the Chairman provided that notification
has been given to Select Committee Support before the commencement of the
meeting, such notification to detail which items the member is attending for.

MINUTES - PAPER A - To confirm the Minutes of the meeting held on 21 September 2004.

DECLARATIONS
OF INTEREST - To
invite Members to declare any interest they might have in the matters on the
agenda.

PUBLIC
QUESTION TIME - To
guarantee a full reply at the meeting, the question must be delivered in
writing or by electronic mail to the Committee Administrator no later than
9.30 am on Friday, 15 October 2004.
Each question must give the name and address of the questioner. Questions may be asked at the meeting without
prior notice but in these circumstances there is no guarantee that a fully
reply will be given at the meeting.

BUSINESS - To consider
any matters which, in the Chairman's opinion, are urgent.

FORWARD
PLAN – To consider
whether any items included on the latest Forward Plan (as shown on
http://www.iwight.com/council/what_is_a_council/Forward_Plan/) should be
included in the Select Committee’s Workplan.
The Portfolio Holder will also have the opportunity of advising the
Select Committee of any proposed delegated decision to be taken within the next
month.
LOCAL
DEMOCRACY WEEK
6.
“MAKING SPACE” – THE OAKFIELD CREW – PAPER B - To receive a presentation from members
of the Oakfield Crew. The crew comprises students from the Ryde area who are
actively engaged in identifying the needs of young people in the area. The
Select Committee is reminded that 18 – 22 October 2004 is Local Democracy Week
and the opportunity will be afforded to the students to raise any local issue that
are important to young people on the Island.

MEETING - The next
scheduled meeting will be now be held on Friday, 26 November 2004 at 1.30 pm at
County Hall, Newport. This change in
the date from Tuesday, 9 November 2004, is to enable a key stakeholder to
attend for the first item. The agenda for that meeting is likely to
