Before the meeting began The Chairman of the Committee paid tribute to Mr Glen Hepburn, the Major Applications Team Leader, who leaves the Authority on Friday 15 October 2004. He was with the Council for 7 years.

THAT the Committee place on record its appreciation for his professionalism and for all the assistance and hard work he has given the Isle of Wight Council, and wished him every good wish for the future.

site in connection with maintenance of the installation to ensure that damage

they may be guilty of an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act if
damage is caused to the SSSI. (ii)
The Authority give a without prejudice indication that the site at Greatwood
Copse may be considered suitable for a permanent installation, subject to the
height and design of such an installation and any submission adequately
addressing matters relating to the status and landscape character of the AONB
and the ecological interests of the adjacent SSSI. |

(b) Paper B3 – Items deferred from the last
meeting of the Committee TCP/26302/A - Demolition of rear single
storey extension & conservatory; construction of rear extension &
conversion of dwelling to form 2 flats, (revised scheme) 70 Adelaide Grove,
East Cowes
Members were asked to reconsider the above
application, which was deferred from the meeting held on the 14 September
2004. The Committee was informed that
negotiations with the Applicant’s Agent had taken place to secure the
replacement of a set of proposed French doors with a window and that the
building was suitable for conversion to flats in regard to sound transmission
and fire safety had been successful.
RESOLVED :
(i) THAT Conditional
planning approval be granted, subject to the conditions set out in the original
report and an additional condition as follows:

Q31 Building Insulation (noise emission)
The building shall be
adapted so as to provide additional sound insulation, as detailed on the
approved plans and in accordance with a specification to be agreed in writing
with the Local Planning Authority prior to work commencing on site, so as to
minimise potential disturbance to the neighbouring property against internally
generated noise. Thereafter, the
development shall be carried out and maintained in accordance with the approved
details.
Reason: in the interests of
the amenities of the area and adjoining residential properties and to comply
with policies D1 (Standards of Design) and P5 (Reducing the impact of noise) of
the Isle of Wight Unitary Development Plan.
(ii) That the applicant is advised in writing of the
need to comply with the requirements of the Building Regulations, with
particular reference to Part B and Part E relating to fire precautions and
sound transmission respectively.
