RESOLVED :
THAT the Minutes of the meeting held on 3 September 2004 be confirmed.

Condition 1 to be amended to read as follows: The building is of a type

Development Plan. Additional Condition as follows: The building hereby
approved shall be used only for the sale of fish and shellfish and for no
other purpose whatsoever without the prior written consent of the Local
Planning Authority. Reason: In the interest of the amenities of the area in general and nearby
residential occupiers in particular and to enable the Local Planning
Authority to consider the appropriateness of alternative uses of the building
in accordance with Policies G4 (General Locational Criteria for Development),
D1 (Standards of Design), P1 (Pollution and Development) and R2 (New Retail

46. URGENT BUSINESS
The Chairman agreed to the following item of urgent business, as a decision was needed before the next meeting

Detached houses at the Shipyard, Ashlake Copse Road, Fishbourne, Ryde
Members gave consideration as to whether or not they would grant planning permission to the above application.
As the application had followed the same advertising process and the Part II’s, public participation was permitted and the following person spoke:

Pearson (Objector)
A letter received from the Applicant, which set out the reasons
they need to build residential properties on the site, to aid the financial
viability of the business that is also based at that location.
Members agreed that it is
important for this proposal to go ahead, as it will assist in keeping the
business at location as well as providing housing in the area. They did however agree that everything should
be done to ensure access to the site should only be by way of Ranalagh Drive.
RESOLVED :
THAT Conditional planning
approval, subject to the conditions set out in the Part II Register and that a Letter to be sent to
applicant drawing his attention to the requirements of Conditions numbers 3 and
4 which control access to and from the application site.

(b)
Other Matters Not Relating To Current Planning
Applications
(i) TCP/21195/E – Refusal of
Planning Permission: Retention of Satellite Dish, Stratford House, St Thomas Street, Ryde.
Member gave consideration to
whether circumstances justified the service of an Enforcement Notice on the
above property, requiring the removal of a Satellite dish that had previously
been refused planning permission. They
felt that even though the location of the property was in a conservation area
the impact of the dish on the building did not warrant serving of the notice.
RESOLVED :
THAT no further action to be taken in respect of
issue of Enforcement Notice. Applicant
to be invited to re-submit planning application to regularise planning
situation and to discuss possibility of re-siting of dish to less obtrusive
position on roof slope.
