Needles Old Battery (National Trust)

Needles Old Battery (National Trust)

This spectacularly sited cliff top fort which was built in the 1860s has a fascinating military history brought to life in cartoons by Geoff Campion of Dan Dare fame. Two original guns are on display in the parade ground and a tunnel gives a bird's eye view of the Needles. Children can discover the site with a family activity pack and refreshments are available in the island's most westerly tea room! The site has a number of steep paths and uneven surfaces. The tunnel is accessed by a narrow winding staircase.
