Community Services for Adults

The Adelaide

The Adelaide at Ryde is a purpose-built resource centre, Care Quality Commission-registered, and offers high standards of care in a comfortable environment. It has a positive approach to promoting independence and offers many services, including:

  • regular respite which enables clients and carers to have a break from their caring roles;
  • respite stays following hospital discharge to enable clients to recuperate prior to going home;
  • emergency placements when a crisis has occurred;
  • day-care facilities, which are available with a bathing option;
  • a minibus service available to collect clients from the local community;
  • a hairdresser;
  • a chiropodist;
  • a cafe clinic.

Assessment for the service can be done by visiting the Adelaide to ensure that the care needs are appropriately met. This can be arranged through a social care practitioner or directly with us. Our staff are available to give further information or advice.

There will be a cost for these services. A social care practitioner will make a referral to the financial assessment team. The financial assessment team will then contact you to arrange a visit, where they will go through your finances. A decision will be made regarding the amount you will be required to contribute towards the cost of the services. They will also help you claim for any benefits you may be entitled to.
