Community Services for Adults

Westminster House

Westminster House is a well established respite centre for individuals with learning disabilities. The facility caters for a wide age range, from 18 to 65. It is Care Quality Commission-registered and offers high standards of care in a safe and comfortable environment. Westminster House offers a range of services, including:

  • regular respite patterns;
  • convalescent care;
  • emergency placements;
  • holiday respite;
  • day services.

This provides respite for both individuals and their parents/carers at a mutually agreed pattern of care, chosen by them both.

Westminster House works closely with other service providers such as the Isle of Wight College, day care providers, learning disability community nurses and care managers.

All services are tailored around each individual’s needs. Westminster House also offers a wide range of activities and social opportunities.

You can contact Westminster House directly to arrange a visit, to look around and to discuss your requirements.

Alternatively, your care manager or learning disability community nurse can get in contact to request an assessment.

There will be a cost for these services. A social care practitioner will make a referral to the financial assessment team. The financial assessment team will then contact you to arrange a visit, where they will go through your finances. A decision will be made regarding the amount you will be required to contribute towards the cost of the services. They will also help you claim for any benefits you may be entitled to.
